Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan
A bunch of Couchsurfers and I went to a dingy bar in the middle of Shibuya for some post-dinner drinks. We were most intrigued by the row of bras hanging on a metal bar above us. We asked our Japanese host, who was a regular at that bar, why there were bras hanging in that manner. She informed us that everyone (presumably a female) who was willing to remove their bra would receive drinks on the house in return. The best part? Everyone else present who still had their bra in place (or didn’t have one to remove in the first place) would get free drinks too.
Do you have a tatty undergarment you would like to give up? I’m going with you to that bar.
Every photograph we take contains a story, but we often do not spend enough time sharing that story with others. Hence, Foto Friday was born to give some recognition to these forgotten photographs and the memories they hold. Taken over many trips (2004-present) using my crappy cameras and whatever minimal photography skills I have, these photographs serve to give you a little insight into my travels. And if you haven’t realised by now, they’ll be out on Fridays.
